Baby Foods Homemade!
Your tiny tot needs nutrition regularly without a miss. Also, what your baby needs the most is the right amount of all food nutrients at regular intervals. And, who is the best person to understand what to feed to your child is you, as a mother. Research shows that home-made food is the best food diet for tiny tots and newly born babies.
But in this busy world, working mothers have no time to cook everyday! Don’t worry, here’s a solution. Working women across the world make use of the ice cube tray method to cook for their babies.
In this method, all that you need to do is cook for your child once in a week, say a weekday, and freeze it just like you freeze water into cubes using freezing trays. This way the food remains fresh and when needed, you just need to pull food cubes and feed your baby without any hassle.
We will tell you all about this ice cube tray method and guide you through all the steps of doing this.
Preparation:
depending on what you want to prepare, you should wash, peel and chop the needed vegetables and fruits. Here you can make use of frozen food items, but remember you will ultimately freeze the prepared food too. So, it is recommended to make use of fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible.
Cook:
Mix all the fruits and vegetables together and steam them in a pressure cooker or use a microwave, the choice is yours! However, microwave cooking is preferred to steaming because it retains the food nutrients and essence. Do not boil the food. Cook them well and keep them aside to cool. You can check if they are done by inserting a folk or a knife in them.
Puree:
Once the food is cooled down, pour all the steamed food into a food processor and blend nicely to make a puree. This ensures that the food becomes consistent, soft and velvety in eating. You can also add little water if you feel the food puree is very thick.
Freeze:
Pour the puree in ice trays and let them freeze overnight. Take them out and pack them nicely in edible bags and store in the refrigerator.
Your baby food is ready.
