This recipe is especially for kids with diabetes but it can be a nutritious part of everyone’s diet. Kids with diabetes needs to pay extra attention to the amount of carbohydrates they eat to maintain control of their blood sugar levels. This recipe is packed with protein and has only 2 carbohydrates. This is also less time consuming as it only takes 10 minutes and can prepare 1 sandwich.
Ingredients are :
whole-wheat low-fat tortilla, 7″ diameter, 2 tbsp. light cream cheese, 1 oz. lean and low-sodium turkey slice, 1 oz. lean and low-sodium ham slice, 1 oz. Swiss cheese slice, 1 iceberg lettuce leaf, 2 to 3 tomato slices.
Method of preparing is :
Place tortilla on a flat surface. Spread some cream cheese on one side of tortilla. Then lay the lettuce first and then turkey, ham, Swiss cheese, and tomato on top of the cream cheese which we spread on the tortilla (flat). Then bring the sides of the wrap in and then roll up in the shape of a cylinder slowly. Wrap each in plastic wrap until it is ready to serve. Slice wraps in half and remove plastic wrap right before serving.
