Coffee Cake Recipe

Family chatter over a fresh baked streusel cake does not only sound great, it is something worth experiencing. Coffee cakes are loved by almost every second family and nothing can be better than enjoying a great chatter over a tasty coffee cake.

Though many cakes are considered to be coffee cakes very few of them today actually contain coffee. The entire concept of coffee cake is quite dicey for some bake coffee cakes that contain coffee, others consider cakes served with coffee as coffee cakes.  Even the recipes of coffee cakes have undergone great transformation over the centuries but the craze for these delicious cakes is still the same.



Simply Cinnamon Coffee Cake

– 1 cup of suga, 2 eggs
– 2 cups of all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons of baking powder
– Pinch of salt
– ¼ cup of butter
– ¼ cup of shortening
– 1 small can of evaporated milk

Topping

-1 teaspoon of cinnamon
-½ cup of sugar mixed with cinnamon
-¼ cup of chopped pecans or walnuts

In a large bowl mix the cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk to that mixture. Pour half of the batter into greased pans of 8×8 inch each. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon and sugar mixture in to it. Pour remaining batter into the pan along with the other half of the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Now sprinkle the chopped nuts. Bake for over an hour at 350-degree.

Chocolate Swirl Coffee Cake

– 1 cup of sugar
– 2 cups of all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon of baking soda
-2 teaspoons of baking powder
– ½ teaspoon of salt

– 3 eggs
-1 cup of cream
-2 teaspoons of vanilla
-¼ pound of butter
– 1 small can of chocolate syrup

Topping

-1 teaspoon of cinnamon
-½ cup of sugar and cinnamon mixture

Mix cream, butter and sugar to the mixture and keep blending. Then pour the mixture into greased 8×12 inch pan. Add the chocolate syrup into batter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar topping. Bake the mixture for 35 minutes at 375-degree.
