Crunchy Fried Chicken With Barbecue Sauce

Crunchy fried chicken is one of the easiest ways of introducing chicken to smaller kids as it has no spices and can be served to them with tomato sauce. Because of its crunchy taste, its one of the favorite dish among the grown up kids and teenagers.However, adults believe that the real combination of crunchy chicken is with barbecue sauce. It’s a very filling dish and is loved by people of all ages.

Ingredients required for crunchy chicken are:



Chicken breasts – 2 nos., eggs-3 nos, crushed cornflakes-, bread crumbs-4-5 tsp, salt to taste, flour-2-3tsp, oil for frying.

Ingredients required for barbecue sauce are:

Butter-2tsp, finely chopped onions-2tsp, finely chopped garlic-1tsp, julienne of ginger-1tsp, red chilli flakes-1tsp, tomato puree-4tsp, sugar-1/2 tsp, honey-2 tsp, and fresh black pepper-1 pinch, salt to taste.

Preparation for crunchy fried chicken:

Take a mixing bowl and beat the eggs. To this add flour and salt. The mixture consistency should be thick for coating over chicken. Now coat the chicken with the egg mixture and keep it aside for marinating for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, mix the bread crumbs and crushed cornflakes and cover the marinated chicken breast with the same. Now heat oil in a wok and fry the coated breasts till it attains golden brown color. Place it on a kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

Preparation of barbecue sauce:

Heat  butter in a flat heavy bottom pan .To it add chopped garlic and chopped onions and stir fry them. To this, now add julienne of ginger, sugar, fresh black pepper, red chilli flakes. Add tomato puree and stir again and mix thoroughly.To these mixtures add honey, salt and a bit of butter. Mix them again for another one minute and let it cool. Barbecue sauce is ready.

Now serve the hot crunchy chicken with barbecue sauce. It’s best to eat crunchy chicken when its hot.So, in case of guests visiting our place, we can keep the marinated chicken, mixture of bread crumbs and crushed cornflakes as well as barbecue sauce ready. When needed, cover the marinated chicken with the already prepared crunchy mixture and fry them to serve hot.
