Nowadays number of people suffering from diabetics is increasing and even young people are getting affected. Such patients should avoid foods that increase their blood sugar level and desserts is a major item that they should avoid.

But with the introduction of diabetic dessert recipesthey have a chance to enjoy the desserts that were once untouchable to them. Following recipes helps to make sugar free desserts.

Pear Custard

Ripe peeled and cored pear cut in to one inch sized pieces- 1 cup
Fat free milk- ½ cup
Sugar substitute- equivalent to ½ teaspoon sugar
Vanilla extract- ½ teaspoon
Egg- 1
Walnut pieces- 1 tablespoon

Preparation

Preheat the oven to a temperature of 350 degree F and transfer the pear pieces in to 2 oven proof bowls of 3 1 ¾ inch deep. Then combine milk, sugar substitute, egg and vanilla extract in another bowl and pour it on top of the pear pieces. Spread walnut pieces on top and bake the contents for 30 minutes or till the custard becomes firm. Take the bowl out of the oven and keep it for cooling. This custard per serving provides 135 calories, 6 g protein, 13 g sugar, 108 mg cholesterol and 17 g carbohydrates.

Ingredients

Fat free milk- 2 cups
Honey- ¼ cup
Egg substitute- equivalent to three eggs
Vanilla extract- 2 teaspoons
Almond extract- ¼ teaspoon
Salt- 18 teaspoon
Vegetable oil spray

Preparation

Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium flame till it is about to boil with constant stirring. In the meantime mix all other ingredients except vegetable oil in a small bowl. Thereafter mix the milk with these ingredients. Take six ounce oven proof bowls and spray it with vegetable oil.

Then add the milk mixture in to these bowls and keep them in a baking pan containing hot water up to one inch depth. Then place the baking pan in the oven, preheat at 350 degree F and bake it for 30 to 40 minutes. It provides 103 calories, 7 g protein, 16 g carbohydrates and 1 g fat per serving.

Pumpkin Pudding

Ingredients

Pumpkin- 1 sixteen ounce can
Skim milk- 2 cups
Eggs- 2
Cinnamon- 1 teaspoon
Vanilla extract- 1 teaspoon
Sugar substitute- 5 packets
Salt- a pinch

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients and spoon the mixture to a casserole bowl. Bake it for 15 minutes in an oven preheated at 425 degree F and then for another 40 minutes at 350 degree F.  Chopped walnut can also be used to garnish the pudding. This pudding will generate 125 calories, 8 g protein, 96 mg cholesterol and 16 g carbohydrates per serving.
