Foods Good for Heart

Heart is a very complicated and most useful organ of your body. If your heart stops functioning, it will cause death instantly. Even if your heart faces little discomfort, you get into trouble. Therefore you should take proper care of your heart. Here are some foods which are very beneficial for your heart.

Apples & Almonds are known to be rich in vitamins and fiber. Apples also contain quercetin. All these prevent fats from being absorbed into your body. Thus extra fats are thrown out of your body. Almonds are rich in vitamin E which protects heart from high cholesterol. Resveratrol is highly effective antioxidant which is found in Red Wine; therefore Red Wine too is good for heart. But you should take it in moderate amount only.

Heart problems occur due to arteries blockage which slows down the flow of blood, due to which numerous problems arise, sometimes even heart failure. Fish is considered to be very good food for heart because it contains omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are very effective to maintain your blood flow moving smoothly in your body. You can eat it daily for taste but even once or twice a week if you eat fish such as Salmon, Tuna, Pomphret, Sardines etc. then it is sufficient.

Eating fiber foods is very beneficial for your heart because fiber not only controls your cholesterol, but it also improves your digestion. Oats are rich in beta glucan; a soluble fiber which doesn’t allow fats or cholesterol to be absorbed in your arteries or intestine. Hence you should consume oats as your breakfast regularly.

Fruits which contain lycopene, such as tomatoes and watermelon, prevent blood platelets from sticking together. They are very good for heart and protect it from cardiac arrest. Green tea too saves your heart from various types of heart problems such as cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, stroke etc. due to its antioxidant properties.

Garlic and ginger too are extremely beneficial for your heart. They don’t allow fats and cholesterol to be absorbed by your liver and blood because garlic is very rich in antioxidants. Hence you must consume raw garlic and ginger daily to protect your heart from various problems.

Apart from the above mentioned foods, olive oil, green vegetables, different kinds of fruits, honey too are beneficial for your heart. So you should consume them regularly.
