Many people look to certain foods when they diet. Some eat only some forms of foods, while others skip dairy products or meals altogether. A common diet is to stick to egg whites and wheat bread.

Fruit diets are ideal for those who try to lose weight. The advantage of fruits is that they are loaded with nutrients, but are also full of water which make them easy to digest and low in fat. There are also a very large variety of fruits that are available, and provide ample choice without feeling the monotony of eating merely fruits.

There are many kinds of fruits like the watery fruits like the watermelon and honey dew melons, oranges and sweet limes, and also kiwi fruits. Then there are the pulpy fruits like mango, banana, apple, and papaya. These can be had in isolation, or mixed with one another. What they do is provide the body its much needed nourishment, load it with antioxidants and also keep it feeling light at the same time.

Fruits have plenty of fibre and are hence very good foods for digestion.
Given the summer heat that is prevalent in this season, they are very good in keeping the body hydrated and cool. Fruits also keep the body feeling fresh and do not make you feel slow. Most fruits have abundant sugars that help keep energy levels high.

It is a good idea to try and mix the fruits you eat. Use some water based and some pulpy fruits to bring about a balance in taste and nutrition. Here are some combinations of fruits that taste very good together, and also add a good balance to your diet.

Mix some sliced bananas, diced apple and pineapples. Add some salt, sugar and black pepper powder. This will give you instant energy since bananas are energizers, and will also help keep you full longer. The iron in the apple will give strength, and the sweetness of the pineapple and its sugars will keep you peppy through the day. One portion of this will not only have enough calories to make up your meals, but will also give you all the nutrition you will need.

Another great diet includes taking diced watermelon, some orange slices, pieces of guava, some papaya pieces and some watermelon. Toss them together nicely. For your dressing, mix together a little lemon juice, some salt, a little black pepper powder and some honey. Drizzle it onto your salad. Top it off with some pomegranate seeds. This is very tasty, and highly nutritious. It is an ideal meal for the summer. The antioxidants in the honey will keep you fighting fit and in shape.
