Healthy Sandwiches
Do you love eating sandwiches? You would appreciate the fact that sandwiches are a preferred choice of a lot of people across the world. However, your sandwich loving pals also think like you and restrict the consumption of their favorite sandwiches because of the high calorie-count. So is it necessary for every good sandwich to be unhealthy? The answer is no, not at all. Here is the recipe of three healthy sandwiches:
1.) Classic Vegetable Sandwich
The ingredients of this all time favorite sandwich include:
Whole grain/multi grain bread – 4 slices
Sliced Cucumber -1
Sliced Tomato -1
Mashes Avocado – 1
Healthy (low fat) Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoon
Sliced Spanish onion – as per preference
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
First of all, take two bread slices and spread the avocado slices on them. Take care to keep the avocado even and enhance it with salt and pepper. Now, take another two slices of bread and spread mayonnaise on both of them (1 tablespoon on each slice). Finally, add the sliced cucumber, Spanish onion and tomato and join the two divisions to make a complete sandwich.
This sandwich neither requires refrigeration nor grilling. So serve immediately to enjoy the fresh taste.
2.) Baguette and Bacon Sandwich
Here is another great recipe of a healthy sandwich. So let us first take a look at the required ingredients:
Lean Bacon – 4 rashers
Baked Baguette – 1
Buffalo Mozzarella – 4 slices
Chopped Coriander – as per preference
Recipe
Slice down the baguette while grilling the bacon. When bacon is cooked, take its bottom half to arrange rashers on it. Finally, add mozzarella slices and complete your fillings by some sprinkling chopped coriander. Put the top bread slice, divide the sandwich and serve immediately.
3.) Pita Sandwich with Sprouts and Avocado
Ingredients:
Pita Bread- 1 (whole wheat)
Alfalfa Sprouts – 1 cup
Sliced Tomato – 1
Thinly Sliced Cucumber – 1
Thinly Sliced Sweet Onion – 1/4
Mashed Ripe Avocado – 1
Cayenne Pepper, Onion powder and Garlic Powder – ¼ tablespoon each
Honey – 2 tablespoon
Salt and Lemon Juice to taste
Recipe:
First of all prepare the avocado topping by enhancing it with cayenne powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Also add some honey and lime juice. Mix the stuff properly. Now, take two halves of pita bread and spread the avocado mixture on it. Now add vegetables and sprouts by forming an even layer and eat fresh.
