Nasi Biryani is a delicious Malaysian dish extremely popular dish in South Asia. It is usually served in special occasions and calibrations. You can make a luscious Nasi Biryani in your kitchen by following the instructions dictated in this article.
Chicken ½ kg
Yoghurt 2 Cups
Basmati rice 2 Cups
Chili powder 3 tablespoon
Onion 1 (chopped)
Onions 2 (thinly sliced)
Almonds (thinly sliced) 1/2 Cup
Golden raisins 4 tablespoon
Milk (boiled) 2 tablespoon
Ghee 1 Cup
Ingredients to make marinade:
Large onion (sliced) 1
Poppy seeds 2 teaspoon
fresh mint leaves 1 Sprig
Green cardamoms 4
Cloves garlic 6
cinnamon stick (chopped) a small piece
ginger (sliced) a small piece( 3 or 4 inch)
First, you have to prepare the Marinade. For that, make a fine paste with cinnamon stick, poppy seeds, mint leave, cloves, cardamoms, onions, garlic and ginger. You can make the paste grinding them well in a grinder adding required water to it. Then, add chili powder and yogurt to the paste blending them well. Now, take the chicken pieces and blend it with the mixture.
You have to coat the paste on the meat finely and marinate it at least for three hours. Now, you can prepare the chicken. For that, heat a pan adding 4 tablespoon gee and add the thinly sliced onions to it. Fry them stirring frequently and stop frying when they get a light brown color. Drain them keeping in a clean cloth. Then, fry the sliced almonds in the same manner and reserve both fried onions and almonds.
Now, add little more gee to the pan and fry the chopped onions until they get a light brown color. Take the marinated chicken pieces and add to the pan. Fry them till they get browned. After that, add required salt and enough water to boil them. You need to boil them in a medium heat covering the pan. Stir whenever needed and, when they are well cooked, remove from the flame.
Now, you can prepare the rice. You need to wash the rice finely and keep it aside to drain it. After that, take a griddle and heat it adding four tablespoon gee. Add the rice and fry it in a medium heat for 11 minutes. After that, add require salt and turn off the flame. Now, Take a large baking bowl and layer one third of the cooked rice. Put half of the fried chicken pieces over it and sprinkle the fried almonds, raisins, fried onions, saffron threads and few drops of milk over it.
Then, layer half of the remaining rice and put the rest of the chicken pieces along with fried almonds, onions, raisins, saffron and milk. Make the last layer with the rice, milk and saffron. Then, sprinkle 5 tablespoon heated gee over it and add enough water. Now, cover the bowl tightly and heat it on a high heat for more than half an hour.
After that, turn out the flame and transfer the cooked mixture to a serving plate. Your Nasi Biryani is ready to be served. You can garnish it with fried onions, raisins, sprigs of mint leaves and fried almonds before you serve.
