How To Make Baked Pizza Sandwich

People love pizza because of its saucy and cheesy nature. Baked pizza sandwich is a type of pizza and people across the globe like it. It is preferred by people of any age group and once you make, you can’t resist yourself from making it again. It is also an excellent way to introduce more nutrients to the kid’s diet.

This sandwich can be baked in an oven and the following steps help you to make a delicious baked pizza sandwich.

Ingredients For Baked Pizza Sandwich

Use either bread of your choice or pizza crust for making this sandwich. If you are using bread then prefer whole wheat bread as they are healthier. If pizza crusts are being used then cut them in rectangular shapes to make sandwiches.

Bread or pizza crust – sixteen slices
Lean meat or chicken or turkey – eight ounce
Fat free shredded mozzarella cheese – eight ounce
Oregano leaves – one teaspoon
Sliced and drained mushrooms – two ounce
Pizza sauce or tomato sauce – fifteen ounce
Sliced pepperonis – optional
Sliced black olives – optional


Take a frying pan and spray it with olive oil. Cook the shredded meat in the frying pan under low heat and when it gets half cooked, drain out the excess fat. Add the mushrooms and stir the mixture well and cook them under low heat. When the meat and mushroom gets cooked well add one teaspoon oregano leaves and half of the pizza sauce to the frying pan and keep it aside.

Spread a baking sheet and arrange eight pizza crust or bread slices over the sheet. Ladle pizza sauce on each slice of bread or pizza crust. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the eight slices and top them with the prepared meat. Spread the meat mixture evenly on top of the pizza crust or bread slices and top them with sliced black olives and pepperonis.

Again sprinkle the remaining half of the mozzarella cheese above the toppings and close the sandwich with bread slices or pizza crust. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 400 degree F. Wrap each sandwich tightly with foil wraps and keep the baking sheet with sandwiches in the oven. Bake the sandwiches for ten to fifteen minutes and cool for three minutes.

Your sandwich is now ready to serve. This will be sufficient to make eight servings and each serving provide about 80 calories of energy, a total fat content of five gram and the protein content of 6.4 gram or more. Moreover this baked pizza sandwich also provides vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. Based on your preference you can substitute the ingredients used for making the topping and can use more vegetables like carrot, corn, tomatoes, lettuce etc. This helps to make your sandwich nutrient rich.

More over the fat free mozzarella cheese that contains zero percent fat and 90 percent protein is also a healthy ingredient.
