Boneless meat ¾ Kg
shortening 2 Cups
Egg, beaten 1
Buttermilk 1 Cup
Garlic powder ¼ Teaspoon
All-purpose flour 1 Cup
All-purpose flour 1/4 Cup
Milk ¼ litter
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
At first, you can cut the meat into cubes and wash them properly. Arrange the meat pieces with a moistened mallet.
Now, you have to make two mixtures, one is with egg and butter milk and another is with flour and garlic. For that, take a bowl and beat the egg in it. Add butter milk and pepper to it blending them finely. Then, add salt and stir the mixture well. Now, take another bowl and add one cup flour along with garlic powder. Mix both ingredients well.
After that, take a heavy skillet and add ½ inch shortening to it. You need to heat it in a high flame. Now, dip the meat cube in flour mixture and turn it over to get it coated with the mixture properly. Then, dip it in the egg mixture and dip it in the flour mixture once again. Now, put that cube on heated shortening. Repeat the same with the other meat cubes also. You can place four to five cubes at a time in the pan.
Fry those cubes until they get a golden brown color. When all those pieces are well fried, transfer to a plate and let them dry (you can place paper towels in plate to make this process easier). Now, you can make fine gravy with the drippings remaining in the griddle.
Reduce the heat into a medium level and add ¼ cup flour to the remaining drippings. Then, you can add the milk gradually while stirring frequently. After that, reduce the heat to minimum and stir it occasionally. Add a pinch of pepper and stir it again.
Five minutes before you turn of the flame, add required salt and mix it well. Now, arrange the fried meat cubes on a serving plate and pour the gravy over them finely (you can serve the gravy separately also). Chop the coriander leaves and decorate the dish finely. Your Chicken fried steak is now ready to be served.
