Importance of Antioxidants
Different organs of human body perform different functions. When a particular organ performs its function, then molecule loose electrons from reacting with other elements and becomes free radicals. This process is called oxidation. These radicals are very harmful to our body. It can cause heart diseases and can damage your blood cells.
Free radicals are also caused by air pollution, ultra violet rays, x -rays,consumption of alcohol and tobacco. Free radicals can cause many dangerous diseases to your body if not checked properly by the right time. In order to take proper care of free radicals, antioxidants play an important role. Natural antioxidants are produced in our body in the shape of different enzymes. We get these enzymes from green leafy vegetables, berries, citrus fruits, tomatoes, seeds and nuts. Vitamin E is a good antioxidant. Vitamin E helps in reducing LDL cholesterol in the arteries, which keeps the blood pressure normal. Plaque build can block artery and can even cause heart attack. So vitamin E is very useful antioxidant.Fruits and vegetables act as an antioxidant as well. Fruit and vegetables fight against free radicals.
Free radicals spread in thebody if we do not consume fruits and vegetables properly. Free radicals in the body can cause cancer as well. Antioxidants help in fighting against diabetes. Antioxidants slow down the aging effects. Free radicals destroy the dells in the human body which are very important in a young look. Fruits and vegetables slow the process of wrinkles, and loss of muscle elasticity.
You can take antioxidant supplement as well, but it is always good to take antioxidants in food. You can take greens supplement which contains minerals and vitamins. Spinach, cilantro, orange, mango, sweet potatoes and carrots are good source of antioxidant called beta-carotene. You should always buy organic fruits and vegetables. The deficiency of antioxidants can cause infertility, macular degeneration, mental illness, measles and respiratory diseases. Antioxidants are also found in berries, grapes, nuts, peas and watermelon. In short antioxidants are very important in fighting against free radicals like Gremlins.
