Simple Salad Recipes

More and more people are becoming health conscious and are trying to eat a variety of healthy salads as part of their meal. This recipe of salad is very healthy and you can eat it as an entire meal.

You can also give it to the kids when they come home from school. Salads require no cooking so are quick and easy to make. If you are making salads every day you will need a variety of recipes so that you can toss up a new one every day.

One easy and healthy recipe of a salad is to grate three to four carrot and clean an d keep aside. Chop one bunch of spinach leaves and clean well and mix it in a salad bowl along with the carrot.

Take an empty bottle and mix together half a cup of salad oil, two table spoon of white vinegar,  the juice of one lemon and one finely chopped green chili. Shake the bottle well till the ingredients are well mixed. Pour this mixture over the chopped carrot and spinach and mix well. Chop cucumbers in to rounds and place it around the salad dish.

Boil one egg and chop in to pieces and add to the salad. Serve chilled. If you want the kids to eat it do not put the green chillies; instead add some chopped apple pieces and add some caramelized walnuts to sweeten the salad. To caramelize the walnuts heat two tablespoons of sugar in a heavy bottom pan and when it melts close the gas and add the chopped walnuts and stir vigorously. When cool break in to pieces and add to the salad and it will have a sweet and crunchy effect.

Another very simple and easy to make salad is to soak green lentil over night and then boil and mix together with chopped tomatoes and cucumber. Add salt and pepper to taste and add one teaspoon of lemon juice over it. Mix well and serve. this can be eaten hot or cold and is something you can make and eat everyday and also eat it as a full meal.
