The Brazilian way of life has fascinated millions around the world. The lean and fit bodies of the Brazilians have also appealed to masses in different parts of the world. And if you too are impressed with the Brazilians, try to follow the Brazilian diet for achieving a fantastic body. The basics of this diet plan consist of having lots of carbohydrates. Generally, it borders along having food that is preferred by the Brazilians.

Start With Rice and Beans

Rice and beans can be considered to be the staple food for Brazilians. They love to gorge on rice along with pinto beans. It is not only a healthy food habit it allows a cheap option for having a complete meal. These two ingredients always feature in a Brazilian meal, irrespective of whether it is a lunch or dinner. Every household prepares a dish with these two staple foods. But, the Brazilian style of cooking rice is slightly different. Soaked or dry pinto beans are pressure cooked and then flavoured with oil, garlic and salt for giving it the perfect Brazilian taste. Add Lots Of Fresh Fruits And Vegetables

The Brazilian diet relies heavily on the consumption of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Native fruits like banana, coconut, dried guarana, guavas, papayas, pineapples, apples, oranges, tangerines and other varieties are used by Brazilians on a daily basis and must feature in the Brazilian diet. Different types of puddings and drinks are also made with these fruits. You can try out fruit smoothies with any fruit of your choice.

Traditional Brazilian dishes utilize a variety of native vegetables like black beans, peppers, corn and yam. They generally do not have leafy green vegetables and rely on locally available native varieties of vegetables. Manioc, a vegetable which is similar to the potato is also frequently used in the Brazilian diet. French fries with the manioc are quite common in Brazil and this vegetable is widely used in dishes that utilize potato as an ingredient.

Rely Heavily On Non-Vegetarian Items

Although, the Brazilian diet heavily features different types of vegetables, meats form an essential part of their daily food habit. At least two servings of protein, which includes meat as well as fish is consumed on a daily basis. So, if you are also trying to imitate the Brazilian style of eating, think of having meats of any kind with rice or breads. Low fat and low calorie skewer meat kebabs can also be a good food choice for the Brazilian diet.
