Three Mouthwatering Papaya Recipes

Raw green papaya is very healthy and it helps us in many ways. Though it is not as tasty as ripe papaya you can make it tasty by the magic of your cooking capability. Here are few mouthwatering preparations of papaya.

Papaya with Cheese:

To make this preparation you need a small papaya. Peel it and cut it into small and thin slices. Soak them in warm water. Drain the water. Now heat some butter in pan, add the slices of papaya and salt.

Stir continuously. After some time add little amount of milk. Cook it till papaya gets tender. Take it in a baking dish, top it with some grated mozzarella cheese and bake it just enough to melt the cheese. Sprinkle oregano and freshly ground pepper over it and serve hot.

Papaya with Shrimp:

Peel one papaya. Grate it and keep aside. Shell some shrimps, wash properly and remove their heads. Rub salt on the shrimps. Pour some oil in frying pan. Fry the shrimp in cooking oil and keep them aside. Chop one onion and make juliennes of ginger.

Fry onions and ginger in cooking oil, add grated papaya, salt and stir for some time. Put the lid and keep it on for some time. When everything gets tender, add fried shrimp to it. Keep stirring and make it dry. Add a dollop of butter in it and mix well. Serve it hot.

Papaya Curry:

Peel papaya and potato and cut into cubes. Chop one big ripe tomato. Grind cinnamon, cardamom and clove into a fine powder. Heat oil in a pan and add one bay leaf. As it fries add the tomato. Stir and when the tomato has turned to rich gravy, add papaya and potato.

Sprinkle a teaspoon of cumin powder and little amount of turmeric. Now add salt. Keep stirring. When they are well-fried add little amount of water and keep the lid on to make the thing tender. Add a pinch of sugar and cook for a minute.

Add the spice powder that you have made earlier and also add a spoonful of butter oil. Before removing it from heat add some green chilies in the preparation. Serve this tasty preparation either with steamed rice or bread.
