Sugar Free Cookies Being a diabetic or obese, doesn’t mean that all the tasty sweet snacks should be removed from your diet. This is because you can still have your favorite cookies in their sugar free version. Even though sugar free cookies might not sound good, they are at par with normal cookies as far as taste is concerned. Even though sugar provides the taste to the cookies, but one can make equally good cookies with sugar substitutes.

The major ingredients used for making cookies include eggs, milk, flour and sugar. Instead of using fatty milks, you can use more nutritious and low fat almond milk, soy milk and even rice milk, however among the different types of milk substitutes almond milk taste the best. Even though eggs are good for health, the whole egg can be substituted with the egg white.



Similarly instead of the refined flour, prefer whole grain flour such as whole wheat flour. Agave nectar is a good alternative for sugar and is obtained from Agave cactus. Agave nectar is a low glycemic and is 100 percent natural syrup like maple syrup. Other sugar alternatives that can be used are stevia and erythritol. Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

Softened butter – half cup
Egg – one
Almond milk – quarter cup
Water – half cup
Vanilla extract – one teaspoon
Agave nectar – half cup
Sifter all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour – one cup
Baking soda – half teaspoon
Unsweetened cacao baking chocolate – two ounces

Directions to Make Sugar Free Cookies

Cut the chocolate in to chunks in order to obtain chocolate chips and keep it aside.

Add half cup butter, half cup agave, half cup water, one egg, quarter cup almond milk and one teaspoon vanilla extract into a blender. Blend the entire contents at medium speed for about a minute and keep aside.

Mix the flour with baking soda and add them to the blender and blend with the other ingredients at slow pace for about two minutes. After this, add the chocolate chunks into the flour mixture and mix well with a spatula till the batter attains a thick consistency.

Preheat the oven at a temperature of 350 degree F.

Get an ungreased cookie sheet and scoop small balls of the prepared mixture in to the sheet till the sheet becomes full. Bake the cookies for twenty to twenty five minutes or till the cookies become golden brown in color. You will get two dozens of cookies from this recipe. Since agave nectar is used as a substitute for sugar, the batter may become slightly wet.  If so add little more flour to balance the consistency of the batter. Also instead of substituting the sugar with agave nectar alone, you can reduce the quantity of agave nectar and add some quantity of stevia.
