When summer begins to set in, you often stock up on the fruits and have loads of them all through the summer. Even your water intake, juices and other cool milkshakes increase. What about the ones who are not good fruit eaters? There are other options for them as well. They often forget another cooling item that is great to have all through the summer, that is yogurt.
Yogurt is not only cooling but very a beneficial way to increase protein in your body. In summer, it cools the entire system just as fruits may do. Yogurt with fruits are also available which also give you the benefit of eating the fruit and having the curd. It is also very light in digesting. This is god since there are many stomach infections that can affect you in the summer.
It is better to have yogurt rather than milk as it is a pre digested form of the milk protein. If you do have a stomach infection in the summer there is also now pro biotic yogurt available in the market which cools the body and has more bacteria present in it which helps to fight the germs.
The protein in yogurt is better for calcium absorption as compared with drinking a glass of milk. I helps in boosting the immunity and stregth. Yogurt can give you instant energy when had during a very hot day.

To make a yogurt dip hang the yogurt in a muslin cloth for six to seven hours and till the water has drained out completely. The yogurt will become thick. Remove it in a bowl and add finely chopped onions, well cleaned and finely chopped coriander. Add condiments like salt and pepper and some oregano flakes and lastly, a pinch of Tabasco. Chill it well and it can be served cold with cucumber which is a very good summer vegetable and the entire snack will have a cooling effect on the body. Eating with carrots is also another healthy variant for this dip.
